What Work Travel Actually Looks Like

The 5am alarm. The car to the airport while the rest of the house is still dark. The laptop open on the tray table because the presentation needs one more pass.

 

The walk from the gate to the taxi rank with a suitcase in one hand and a bag that is technically a personal item but is losing the argument with the overhead locker.

Why Most Travel Totes Fall Short

I tested every version of this bag before I built my own. Here is what I found.

 

The airport tote is soft and expandable and holds everything. It also holds its shape for nothing. By the time you reach the gate it looks like you packed in the dark. It does not belong in a boardroom.

What This Bag Does at Each Point of the Trip
